It is about loving people rather than things; choosing peace rather than fear; reclaiming time to be together with those who matter most.Lisa Hansen Garretthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01935082943222137664noreply@blogger.comBlogger3125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072499742318816511.post-90898267999329024882009-12-31T10:05:00.000-08:002009-12-31T10:16:01.137-08:002009 Christmas Eve Celebration Whoville Style<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPUb4BUgDiYZovWsz3ezyPrEpa7bria0GURCE20PuBWIGVCQsyYdy5YiXsqt3XVI88G0kVd7muXpnhYqtpEkfUbaopdEA68EZKIZlsX0YnH755O8HtaZ-G1fNbD7DCR3S1qZFU1BF4pUU/s320/generational+cindy+loo+doos+09.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421463261904552866" />Lisa Hansen Garretthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01935082943222137664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072499742318816511.post-30562551733595498652009-12-31T10:01:00.000-08:002009-12-31T10:04:44.174-08:00Significance of a Decade<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV3sS9JLgjW0x8fWrrN6gWM0W835gBBS2p6vlw_paNeXKRygUNDRdkNdBH_i4LdTTSVup7EOcYg7v1CGLka0NND6o-hSDvyTSdb4UYMrSyjqFab9BhtGx4Ud14yhv6XwABKe39lxmfpBo/s320/grandkids+wedding+09.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421462528130295666" />
In just a few hours, we will witness the beginning of a new year and a whole new decade. What will the next ten years mean? What did the last ten years mean?

I made a simple list of major life events to get an immediate long-eye view. The last ten years have been significant--serious, liberating, incredible: we moved to a new community; earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership; changed jobs twice within education, from teacher of Home Economics/Life Fitness (martial arts), Leadership/Activities Director, to Assistant Principal (7 years), to District Office Director of Career Preparation; served in the Stake Young Women organization for the new Folsom LDS Stake; four children got married; nine grandchildren arrived; learned to scuba dive and play the saxophone; took several Harley trips with husband, sister, and brother-in-law; traveled to England, Scotland, France, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, and Greece; my father developed Alzheimer's and passed away--my mother had two strokes--I officially became "Chairman of the Board"; and we became empty nesters! A lot can happen within ten years! With this perspective, the next ten years looks ever so intriguing and full of promise!Lisa Hansen Garretthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01935082943222137664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072499742318816511.post-67104944629105662662009-12-05T11:07:00.000-08:002009-12-05T11:11:01.976-08:00Christmas Magic<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigvtXF3Nr_73RGjtov8aj5k8OxC8-fc2j5uOQu69xLlgD8sbAFlua5SVlnAIuD4W-BL5Yj0UeuAKV7w3EmqOMySSImsMWy9zbgmfUQpWyBzXpuXawdbc7czZXDiJTsnsDKCSfmuRRer8s/s320/tree.jpg.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411831690270840258" />
Christmas preparations cast a spell of nostalgia; a time of remembrance; a time we think of everything ever loved.Lisa Hansen Garretthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01935082943222137664noreply@blogger.com0
